Chamber Associate

10 hours a week (schedule flexible), $28 per hour

A multi-faceted part-time position for a self-directed, personable, organized and motivated individual with business acumen, great communication skills, familiarity with non-profit organization processes and dedication to helping support all Chamber members.
Programs
- Advertising Shop Local (ongoing digital promo, twice year multi-channel campaign)
- Byline (manage subscriptions, mailing list, contribute content-particularly about upcoming events)
- Ribbon Cutting (12-20 per year)
- Certificate of Origin (1-2 times each month)
- Learning & Networking (work with board director to program and implement)
Membership (Care, Retention, Recruitment)
- Regularly interact (phone, email, zoom, in person) with members with responsive and proactive, thoughtful support.
- Work with board directors, especially membership workgroup lead & City Community development liaison, to engage and recruit members.
- Maintain Online Membership Directory (using WildApricot Platform)
Events
- Ribbon Cuttings (12+ per year)
- Learning (1-2 zoom events , 1 in person event such as Women’s/Black-Owned Forum)
- Networking (4 collaborative mega mixers. 1 winter holiday mixer @ Mechanics Bank/support)
- Community Facing (1 4th of July)
Marketing & Communications
- Website (refresh, work w. vendor on technical aspects)
- eNews (create and send outbound emails) 4-8 per month, varying target audiences
- Social Media (work with board director to post content) (For Byline, see programs above.)
- Informational “Flyers’ or other print/digital communications pieces to promote programs (advertising, special campaigns, even social media/email images such as for Ribbon Cuttings)
Financial
- Manage membership invoicing and renewal process
- Work with the Treasurer/President to maintain financial information for reporting and taxes.
- Sync WildApricot financial data to QuickBooks twice monthly
- Implement current programs, managing expenses in keeping within yearly budget allocations.
- Participate in new programs innovated by the board to improve and grow revenue.
Administration & Information Technology
- Monitor and respond to inquiries (print mail, email, phone)
- Produce associate reports for monthly board meetings.
- Keep Chamber office in good standing (materials in stock, organizing/filing documents, equipment)
- Technical Platforms - maintains technical functioning, and monitors viability (i.e. cost to function) of key platforms such as WildApricot, Constant Contact, Social Media, Microsoft 365, RingCentral).
- USPS Mailbox (back-up to Treasurer)
- Prepare monthly timesheet and submit by last day of the month to President and cc’ Treasurer
